Description
This unit was taught to 7th graders. Prior to the unit, we covered natural selection, fossils and evolution. The evolution and fossil topics lead into the unit of ecosystems, which was the unit that we did for our triad project. The goal of our triad unit was to use place-based inquiry to get students to think deeply about one of their own local ecosystems, and to understand what would happen to it if an organism were to permanently disappear from the it due to a drought or a natural occurrence.
