The Purpose of This Workshop

The purpose of this workshop is to help you become acquainted with the concept and core strategies of co-teaching, and to help both the mentor and candidate develop a strong co-teaching relationship. In addition, the workshop is designed to help you clearly understand the roles and responsibilities of each member of the field experience.

Last, but not least, this workshop will help you develop the communication and collaboration skills between mentors and candidates that are so critical to a successful co-teaching experience. The workshop is divided into several units. Each unit is divided into lessons for you and your co-teaching partner to do together.

While you can access the units in any order, we recommend this sequence so you can first build a solid foundation, prior to delving deeper into co-teaching.
