Summary – Triads

While each candidate’s experience will be different, co-teaching is a model that provides every candidate the support to navigate the peaks and valleys of student teaching.

The co-teaching triad, which includes the candidate, mentor teacher, and university supervisor, is a proven partnership that helps address he needs of the candidate, as well as those of the mentor teacher and school.

The university supervisor helps to support the process and also takes back to the university valuable lessons that contribute to the continuous improvement of the teacher preparation program.

During your year of co-teaching, you should expect to experience some of the emotional “peaks” and “valleys” that go along with the process. It’s a natural progression that reflects your development, from student to practitioner.
