Description
In this 5-day unit, students are asked to read text and watch media on how animal parents promote offspring survival. The first 3 days of the unit, students are asked to do just that! Each day is set to explore different patterns such as carrying, providing shelter, and feeding. Students will read a text about a specific animal that contains one of those characteristics, fill in a t-chart, watch media on a different animal that contains that same characteristic, fill in the t-chart, and then compare! Students are asked to make connections between the two means of information and come up with an overall big idea on how animal parents promote offspring survival. Day 4 is an engaging, hands on day where students are asked to participate is simulating animal parent’s behavior while day 5 is assessment day where students get to create their own Amazing Animal Parents book!
