Description
Why can we see the moon and sun during the day, but not the stars? In this unit, first graders will do research on the sun and moon, collect and analyze data on their shadows, predict patterns of the sky, make claims related to the phenomena, create models, and explore simulations of the night sky. At the end of this 6-day unit, students will have the opportunity to create a script for a “character” (Earth, Sun, or Moon) that they are assigned to within a group and put on a performance to show what they have learned in this unit.
