Description
This 2nd grade life science unit presents students with a mission: they must find out what they need to grow a plant on Mars. Students learn various background information about plants and their environmental needs to survive and grow. They design and conduct an experiment in two groups, each with different variables. One group uses water as their control while the other uses light. Students consistently measure the plants’ height throughout the experiment and report what their data told them about how much water and what type of light is needed to grow a plant on Mars.
