Description
This unit about collisions and the transfer of energy was taught in a 4th-grade classroom in Chico, CA. After this unit, students were able to create data tables, analyze data, develop thoughts based on scientific observations, and design and construct their own models based on the transfer of energy between objects. The main goal of the lessons in this unit is to provide students with the opportunity to both observe natural phenomena and to create models based on what they observe. Each lesson will challenge students to think critically about seemingly simple interactions and will instill the importance of documenting their findings.
