Description
This unit was taught in a 5th grade class to nine year olds to twelve year olds. The students had some experience in matter, identifying physical properties, and knowledge of phases. The goal of this unit was for students to understand that when matter is combined, that it sometimes results in new substances and for them to identify several signs that this is occurring through observing the changes and signs themselves.
