What is Co-Teaching?

Topic Progress:

Co-teaching is defined as two teachers – a mentor teacher and a credential candidate – working together with groups of students. They share the planning, organization, delivery and assessment of instruction as well as the physical space.

This does not mean simply dividing teaching tasks and responsibilities between two people. Rather, co-teaching is an attitude where partners share all of the tasks and responsibilities of the classroom.

As you can see here, co-teaching has many benefits for the credential candidate, the mentor, and their students. We hope that this online workshop will help you to appreciate these benefits, as well as develop the skills needed to get the most out of your co-teaching experience.
